Summary/Objective To create a flexible program and class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students, parents and staff; and to promote social, physical and intellectual growth in the subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from staff and the general public Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists Ability to plan and implement lessons based on state standards, district and school objectives, and abilities of students Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This job primarily operates within the school environment. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Regularly required to see, talk and hear Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a 9-month, full-time position. Employee will work nine hours per day Monday through Thursday. Employee may need to work extended hours to meet deadlines. Occasional travel to conferences, with overnight stays, may be required. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate education field Preferred Education and Experience Experience working with children. Required Certifications/Licenses Valid teaching certification issued by the Arizona Department of Education Work Authorization/Security Clearance Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
