QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or G.E.D. and up to date immunizations Pass a Background Check and Obtain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card Have an Arizona Driver License and more than one (1) year of driving experience other than a motorcycle Obtain a 39-month Motor Vehicle Record (with no more than 8 points against the applicant’s driving record) Pass the ADOT required Medical Examination and Drug Screen Obtain a Commercial Driver License Learner Permit for a Class B license with Passenger and School Bus endorsements NOTE: Applicants need their Arizona Driver License and Medical Exam Certification. The Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) requires a valid social security card, birth certificate, proof of residence, and proof of status. Applicants must pass the following written tests: General Knowledge, Air Brake, Passenger, and School Bus. Obtain an Arizona School Bus Driver Certificate: A minimum of 14 hours of classroom instruction and 20 hours of behind the wheel training. Six (6) hours of instruction in Non-violent Crisis Prevention. Pass a written examination of classroom training and a skills assessment test pertaining to the loading, securement, and unloading of wheelchairs in a school bus Obtain certification in adult, child, and infant CPR and First-aid Pass the Physical Performance Test Pass the pre-trip inspection, behind the wheel skills course and road test Paid training is provided!
