School Psychologists at LESD provide comprehensive school psychological services including evaluation of students for a variety of special education eligibility, direct services and consultation to address educational and mental health needs of students and effective collaboration with school and district teams to support students. Our psychologists are an integral part of school teams and have the opportunity to support parents, staff, and students in a variety of ways.

We have nine elementary schools, one k-8 school, four middle schools and a separate public day school. With ongoing open enrollment and a new school opening in August, the District prides itself on excelling schools, award-winning teachers, high test scores, and low administrative rates. The Special Education Department of Litchfield Elementary School District is proud to provide an environment that is highly supportive of education, including high standards of excellence, a wide range of support services, special and innovative programs, modern facilities, professional growth opportunities, extensive teaching materials, technological support, and a superior work environment. We are finding that families have specifically chosen LESD for its well-known reputation with regard to special education services and high standards district-wide. We just keep growing! LESD MISSION BELIEVE, A CENTURY OF STRENGTH! At LESD, We Believe in Our Students! We Believe in Ourselves! We Believe in Our Colleagues and Leaders! We BELIEVE that smiles, laughter, high expectations and well planned lessons are just a few of the actions that show our students that we BELIEVE in them every day. We BELIEVE that networking, mentoring, and spreading joy are great examples of how to show that we BELIEVE in ourselves. Supporting our colleagues, sharing ideas, participating in professional dialogue, being an enthusiastic team member and celebrating successes are ways to show our colleagues and leaders that we BELIEVE in them! LESD will be in Year 4 of implementing Conscious Discipline district-wide.
