Look no further because we are the school for you. Concordia Charter School is a K-6 community school located in Mesa. We are seeking dedicated, energetic, technology savvy teachers who desire to make a positive impact on the lives of our students. We are filling positions for the 2018-2019 school year. We are looking for a Special Education Director/Teacher who want to be part of our wonderful school/family community. The right person will believe in having a strong partnership between the school, the families, and the community to provide an excellent education. We believe in a push in approach to Special Education rather than a pull out approach so the right candidate will be comfortable going into the classroom and working with the classroom teacher to provide services. We strive to develop not only education excellence, but also respectful and thoughtful children. We offer a small community campus with small class sizes, instructional support, and a very strong rich curriculum. Teachers are provided with curriculum maps that have the “what to teach” all planned out for you so you can spend time on the fun part of teaching and focus your energy on the ‘how to teach.” Teachers are expected to spend NONE of their own money as the school prides themselves in supplying teachers with all the needed materials. Each classroom is also equipped with a smart board to be used to enhance the students learning experience. Concordia Charter School utilizes the Core Knowledge Language Arts curriculum and Saxon Math program. Both programs greatly prepare the students for high school, college and beyond.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties of this job include, but are not limited to: Follow and teach CKLA and Saxon Math Create and submit weekly lesson plans on our online lesson planner, OnCourse Provide a safe, structured and positive learning environment using Responsive Classroom Keep appropriate records and prepare reports cards at the end of each trimester Prepare ILLPs for students that need them and prepare progress reports Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss students’ progress Identify student needs and adjust/modify curriculum to meet their individual needs Collaborate with other professional staff members Maintain professional competence through weekly professional development Use technology in the classroom to teach and enrich students learning
