Job Description:
Teacher of record Responsibilities  Follow ADE and NSAA professional teaching requirements;  Maintain and enrich their expertise in the subject area they will teach;  Coordinate lesson plans with other teachers to maximize possibilities for teaching similar topics in the same general time frame, thus reinforcing student knowledge on an interdisciplinary basis;  Develop lesson plans that ensure the attainment of state learning standards and the additional specific grade-­‐by-­grade learning standards set forth in the charter;  Provide direct and indirect instruction, provide an inviting, exciting, innovative, learning environment;  Complete the forms accountable for NSAA P & P and Attestations for qualifications;  Long and short-­‐term planning addressing individual needs of students;  Prepare students adequately for all required assessments;  Effectively evaluate students’ progress and be accountable for growth;  Provide data of individual student achievement;  Engage in effective and appropriate classroom management;  Provide clinics, workshops, field trips and other extended activities for application of knowledge;  Accept and incorporate feedback and coaching from administrative staff;  Serve as an advisor to a students, including organizing advisory groups, overseeing the academic and behavioral progress;  Enforce and abide by the NSAA Policy and Procedures which includes but are not limited to:  Responding to parent communication within 24 business hours and document student and parent contacts in Schoolmaster;  Be punctual, and professional and prepared each day;  Proctor or administer various test coordinated with Administrators;  Communicate to parents, document and report to the Dean on excessive absences;  Arrange for substitute teachers as needed;  Provide Administration with required documentation for grade reporting according to due dates;  Consistently hold office hours;  Keep website, grades and/or calendar current;  Attend professional development;  Administer and grade district benchmark exams;  Communicate with parent when a student is earning a D or below;  Keep accurate records of attendance;  Enforce the Student Handbook;  Attend IEP and Student Study Team meetings and provide accommodations for students with special needs without question and follow all state and federal requirements regarding accommodations;  Complete 45 day screenings and other administrative requests in a timely fashion;  Keep classroom neat and clean and food free;  Conduct classroom inventory and end of year procedures before June 6 of each year;  Attend and contribute to fundraising efforts. Content Specific Responsibilities and Qualifications Academic Faculty • Assist students in creating materials for career and college; • Teach skills in your content, including arts integration and collaboration whenever possible; • Provide instruction by which students develop applicable concepts and understanding and the ability to make qualitative judgments verbally and in written expression; • Instruct and apply elements of content knowledge; • Provide individual and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual abilities, and accommodate a variety of instructional and assessment activities; • Instruct students in proper care and use of school materials and equipment; • Organize storage areas and control use and safety of materials, equipment and tools to prevent loss or abuse, and to minimize time required for distribution and collection; • Evaluate each individual students' achievement and growth in knowledge and aesthetic understandings; • Outreach: Plan and present students’ work for the school and the community; • Continue to practice in the teaching profession and share personal growth and experience as means of instruction in modeling careers in education.

All Teacher/Faculty Qualifications 1. Hold Bachelor degree and Pass the state teacher certification exam in the content area and Professional Teaching Standards. or 2. Hold Master or higher degree in the content area and pass the certification exam in Professional Teaching Standards. or 3. Hold current AZ or reciprocal teaching certificate Teachers are responsible for keeping finger print clearance cards and certification and endorsements current to avoid unpaid administrative leave. Annual Contract Period August 1- June 30 Salary is competitive based on experience.
