Job Description:

Joseph City Unified School District No. 2 is hiring a full-time First Grade Teacher for Joseph City Elementary School, a small rural school in Navajo County on I-40 between Holbrook and Winslow. Joseph City Elementary is a schoolwide Title I school.

About the position

Teach a first grade class and build the reading and math foundations students carry through school. Plan and deliver daily instruction, assess and monitor student progress, and work closely with the principal, grade-level colleagues and the school's reading intervention team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Arizona elementary teaching certificate, or eligibility for one. Teachers certified in another state may qualify for an Arizona certificate through reciprocity.
• Candidates enrolled in, or ready to enroll in, a state-approved alternative certification program are encouraged to apply.
• Reading or literacy endorsement preferred. Arizona requires K-5 teachers who provide literacy instruction to hold one within the state's timeline.
• Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card, or eligibility to obtain one
