Salary Range:

$175,000.00 - $200,000.00 USD annually.

The Head of Schools-Immersion is responsible for the overall strategic and operational functions that include instructional leadership and site administration for ASU Preparatory Academies. This role will provide leadership oversight to the school directors promoting educational objectives through collaborative planning, network curriculum and effective instructional practices and responsive programs and services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree in Education, Educational Leadership or related field required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of proven, successful experience as a Principal or Director.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in leading educational leadership development programs, maintaining a high level of competence in the field of education.
  • Active AZ Department of Public Safety (DPS) IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Experience recruiting students and families, developing programs to achieve school mission, preferred.
  • Experience in leading effective change management; building and maintaining culture.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide educational leadership, administrative direction, and supervision to school directors at each campus. 
  • Demonstrate and develop high academic and behavioral expectations, collaborative planning and program development, responsive management, and personal accountability. 
  • Monitor and evaluate building administrators on a daily basis in all areas of academics and operations.
  • Ensure all reports, master teaching schedules, records, and other paperwork are complying to state and federal guidelines. 
  • Oversee acquisition and training of site leadership and school personnel to ensure that site employees demonstrate the enthusiasm, professional background, rigor and internalization of the ASU Prep way.
  • Oversee student safety and conduct, and enforces discipline as necessary in accordance with ASU Prep policy and the students’ rights to due process.
  • Uses evaluation for self-improvement; carries out an individual improvement plan developed with the Chief Learning Officer.
  • Perform other duties and assume such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the CEO or CLO or as required by law, code, and regulation policy.
  • Implement and manage ASU Prep instructional pedagogy and ensure its implementation in the school’s daily and overall curriculum.
  • Create strategic plans for educational and instructional programs in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and the provisions of the district’s collective bargaining agreements.
  • Act as a student advocate to ensure the rights of all students are respected and that all have equal access to the educational opportunities necessary to meet their needs and abilities; Oversees operations to protect student information, student safety, and academic integrity in accordance with local, state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Develop with staff the annual goals and achievement plan for the school. 
  • Inform, advise and assist the CLO and CEO, as well as working cooperatively with all other network staff, in school-related matters.
  • Ensure all Directors have quality Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) and other parent/teacher conferences.
  • Responsible for overall strategy for articulated, consistent education for all students while encouraging staff to develop high yield strategies, techniques and activities that reflect instructional rigor and academic excellence.
  • Communicate the ASU Prep mission and vision to school personnel, students, parents and community.
  • Promote effective communication and cooperation among staff through regular staff meetings and department and network level meetings.
  • Maintain positive communication among all members of the school community to create with the school community, and other professional, civic, community, and volunteer groups.
  • Implement strategies to promote a cooperative spirit among all the campuses to enhance the educational and social climate ASU Preparatory Academies. 
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include decisions related to selection, performance appraisal, discipline and salary recommendations.
  • Build strong and empowered teams by providing direction, delegation, counsel, mentoring and expertise to individual team leads, while retaining overall responsibility and accountability for results.
  • Promote and encourage the development, training and promotion of staff members to assure the perpetuation of a professional and competent workforce.

  • Demonstrated ability in organizational management with the ability to coach a senior-level staff to manage and develop high performance teams to develop and implement program strategies.
  • Highly accountable and results-driven with the ability to set and use goals to guide action and objectively measure performance
  • Demonstrated ability to work in collaborative, dynamic, and high-performing environments.
  • Ability to scale from strategic and tactical quickly, to help guide programs at all levels in the organization. 
  • Matured judgment and capacity to take initiative and work with a team.
  • Leadership ability in school administration, curriculum development, program evaluation, staff development, school improvement, and staff supervision and evaluation.
