Job Description:

Position: Welding Instructor

Job Information: Full time, 10 month salaried

Compensation: sick leave, holidays, retirement,

Requirements and Qualifications

· Ability to obtain and maintain an AZ IVP fingerprint clearance

· Valid Arizona teaching certification with appropriate CTE authorization or the ability to attain certification in accordance with the Arizona Department of Education requirements.

· Experience in welding, fabrication, manufacturing, construction trades, or related industry.

· Knowledge of welding safety practices and industry standards.

· Strong organizational, communication and classroom management skills

· Prior teaching, training or mentoring experience preferred

· Industry recognized welding certifications preferred

· Experience working with secondary students preferred

· Experience advising youth leadership organizations or CTSO’s such as SkillsUSA preferred

Job Description

Develop and deliver engaging, industry related relevant instruction aligned with the Arizona CTE standards, maintain a safe laboratory environment and serve as a co-advisor for the SkillsUSA and Technical Education Student Organization

Duties and Responsibilities

· Provide classroom and laboratory instruction in welding and related technical coursework.

· Develop lesson plans and curriculum aligned with Arizona CTE standards and district requirements.

· Teach safe operations of welding and fabrication equipment, including proper use of personal protective equipment. (PPE)

· Instruct students in industry-standard welding processes, equipment, tools and techniques

· Assess student learning and maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, certifications and program outcomes.

· Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications and career readiness opportunities.

· Maintain a clean, organized and safe welding shop and classroom environment.

· Inventory, maintain and request instructional materials, tool and equipment as needed.

· Collaborate with school staff, administration, business and industry partners, and community stakeholders.

· Participate in professional development activities and maintain appropriate certifications and credentials.

· Serve a co-advisor for SkillsUSA, supporting student leadership development.

· Assist with recruitment, retention and promotion of the Welding CTE program

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to demonstrate welding procedures and safely operate shop equipment

· Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift and move materials and equipment commonly used in welding instruction.

· Ability to work in a shop environment with appropriate safety precautions and protective equipment.
