BASIS Ahwatukee is seeking experienced candidates for a College Guidance Counselor to join our bright, passionate team!

BASIS Ed seeks full-time College Counselors who will be responsible for teaching a daily college counseling workshop to 12th graders, counseling approximately 30-40 seniors through all stages of the college search and application process, including but not limited to, supporting students with essays, applications, and timelines.

Counselors will write personalized counselor recommendations for each senior in their caseload, serve as the Senior Research Project (SRP) coordinator, and assist in coordinating graduation.

Counselors will also organize college admissions visits each fall, conduct family college counseling meetings with 11th and 12th graders, meet one-on-one with 9th and 10th graders, and additional responsibilities as needed.

Additionally, this individual will be responsible for developing new program ideas, co-leading college information evening sessions, and developing and maintaining college planning and career assessment and readiness software such as Scoir.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum: A Bachelor's degree. A Master's degree is preferred.

A valid fingerprint clearance and/or satisfactory applicable state background check

Preferred: Together with a high level of educational attainment, a successful applicant will demonstrate strong communication skills in speaking with parents, students; editing essays, and writing letters of recommendation. Critically, an applicant must possess a high GPA in his/her major, excellent employment recommendations, and experience working with students and parents.
