Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInstruction
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based visual arts lessons for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Teach a variety of artistic techniques including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, and digital art when available.
- Integrate art history, cultural appreciation, and cross-curricular connections into instruction.
- Encourage creativity while maintaining high academic and behavioral expectations.
- Display student artwork throughout the campus to celebrate learning and build school pride.
Classroom Environment
- Establish and maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom.
- Teach and reinforce proper use and care of art materials and equipment.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and communicate material needs in advance.
- Ensure students follow classroom expectations and safety procedures.
Student Culture
- Build positive relationships with students and families.

- Maintain accurate grades and documentation in the school's student information system.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and achievements.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
Professional Responsibilities
- Attend all required staff meetings, professional development sessions, PLCs, and school events.
- Maintain professional communication with students, families, and colleagues.
- Arrive on time and fulfill assigned supervision duties.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA and all district, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
Other:
Required
- Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate (Elementary, Secondary, or Art Education).
- Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, Education, or related field.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred
- K–8 teaching experience.
- Experience working in a charter or Title I school.
- Knowledge of PBIS, restorative practices, and student-centered instructional strategies.
- Experience organizing student art shows or community exhibitions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Lift and move art supplies and equipment up to 25 pounds.
- Demonstrate artistic techniques using various materials and tools.
