Job Description:

George Gervin Prep Academy is seeking a compassionate, student-centered School Counselor who is committed to ensuring every scholar is academically, socially, and emotionally successful. The School Counselor provides comprehensive counseling services, teaches social-emotional learning (SEL) classes, delivers individual and group counseling, and collaborates with staff and families to remove barriers to student achievement.

This position includes teaching three Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) classes daily while providing individual and small-group counseling to support scholars' academic success, mental wellness, attendance, behavior, and college and career readiness.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in School Counseling, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field.
• Valid Arizona School Counselor PreK–12 Certificate issued by the Arizona Department of Education, or eligibility to obtain one before employment.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Knowledge of MTSS, PBIS, restorative practices, and trauma-informed care.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Preferred

• Experience working in a K–8 school.
• Experience teaching Social-Emotional Learning.
