Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field.
- Valid Arizona school psychologist certification or licensure.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in educational settings is preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development, behavioral and mental health issues, and educational best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders, including students, families, and educational professionals.
- Commitment to fostering a respectful, inclusive environment for all students and staff.

 

Position Overview:
Sanders USD is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our team in Apache County. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our students. The School Psychologist will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and community resources to support students and create a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments to determine student eligibility for special education services and identify individual educational needs.
- Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing behavioral, social, and emotional concerns.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop and implement effective instructional strategies and interventions tailored to individual student needs.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, offering psychological insights and recommendations for student support.
- Assist in crisis intervention and provide urgent mental health support when necessary.
- Offer training and workshops for staff and parents on mental health issues, positive behavior support, and strategies to promote student well-being.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adjust as needed to promote student success.
- Actively engage in the multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) framework to address the needs of all students.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and consultations in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
