Job Summary
Scottsdale Community College (SCC) is seeking a full-time Electrician Senior. This position will perform and provide lead oversight of journey level electrical work including the inspection, repair, installation and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment and components.
Essential Functions
60% - Performs and provides lead oversight to other Journeyman-level electricians. Electrical work includes but is not limited to troubleshooting, repairing, layout, installing, inspecting, servicing, and maintaining electrical systems, including lighting and power circuits, wire, conduit, fixtures, devices, motors, generators, transformers, control equipment, knowledge of fire alarm systems, and other types of electrical equipment and components. Troubleshoots complex electrical networks up to 4160 volts. Oversees electrical system upgrades and redesigns
15% - Prepares and adheres to a schedule of periodic electrical system inspection and preventative maintenance
10% - Uses/inputs data into a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS); performs estimates for time and material needs for in-house projects and orders bill of materials
15% - Inspects work performed by outside contractors, enforcing all code requirements. Trains and supervises electrical apprentices. Other work duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED and five (5) years of experience performing electrician work equivalent to journey-level which includes lead oversight over journey-level electrical work or the performance of advanced, or more technical and complex electrical work.
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma orGED.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

Journey-level card/license required
•
Possession of a valid Arizona Driver's License (Class D) may be required for some assignments
•
May require local/national certifications associated with assignment
Required licenses and certifications must be maintained for the duration of employment within the classification. Licenses and certifications may be subject to renewal and/or require Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or training by the State or issuing authority.
Desired Qualifications
• Five (5) or more years' experience performing electrical work in a commercial, educational or industrial complex to include installation, repairs and replacement of existing components.
• Five (5) years' experience developing and/or monitoring comprehensive preventive maintenance programs. Includes switchgear, transformers, emergency lighting and distribution systems.
• Five (5) years' experience problem solving complex electrical system issues.
• Five (5) years' experience working from blueprints, diagrams, and schematics
• One(1) year experience with a computerized maintenance management or work order system
• One (1) year of full-time, relevant MCCCD experience within the previous two years.
Special Working Conditions

● May require periodic evenings or weekends
