Job Description:
· Assist the administration in developing school health programs
· Comply with the policies of the school, district, and state laws relative to the administration of medicine to students
· Coordinate and implement health screenings as mandated by state law
· Maintain health records for each student including immunizations, health screenings, and present or chronic health conditions and documentation of treatment and medication
· Audit health records for immunization status of all students, and notifies parents of deficiencies and recommends immunizations
· Contact parents and conducts home visits, when necessary
· Assist district staff in maintaining environmental standards in the schools
· Work with community agencies to provide improved health services
· Participate in professional organizations and educational programs, as assigned
· Administer first-aid in accordance with established first aid procedures
· Provide First Aid/CPR certification training to staff
· Instruct teachers on screening students for health problems
· Serve as a liaison between health professionals and the school district regarding the health needs of students
· Report and/or assist with student issues regarding Department of Child Services (DCS)
· Recommend exclusion and readmission of students in compliance with Board policy on health issues
· Provide effective in-service education on health-related topics for district staff members, as requested
· Adhere to rules, regulations and Governing Board policies
Perform any other job duties, as assigned
This position is for a 1:1 LPN. LPN will need to ride the bus to school in the morning and home with the student in the afternoon.
SMUSD operates on a 4 day work week (Tuesday - Friday)
Position is a 10 month position
