Job Description:

Utilizing the Beyond Textbooks framework, plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in an elementary learning environment that guides and encourages fifth grade students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Assess student learning; adjust instruction accordingly. Establish and maintain classroom management plan. Work is performed under the supervision of the principal / superintendent.

Requirements and skills

  • Working knowledge of current education topics and methodologies;
  • Patient, resourceful, punctual, and resilient personality;
  • Ability to effectively analyze needs and solve problems objectively;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Ability to meet deadlines;
  • Working knowledge of relevant educational technology;
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, occasionally lift, move and/or support up to 50 pounds (and/or up to adult-size body weight with two-to-three-person lift)
  • Ability to effectively instruct and assess fifth grade Arizona State Standards;
  • BA/BS degree in elementary education from an accredited institution;
  • Valid AZ elementary education certificate.

  • Class size of 8-15 students.
  • Shared instructional assistant.
  • On-site instructional coaching.
