Job Title: Instructional Coach

Location: District-wide

Employment Type: 11-Month

Salary Range: Based on the district teacher salary schedule plus applicable stipend.

Position Summary:

The Instructional Coach supports teachers in strengthening instructional practice to improve student learning outcomes. This role focuses on building teacher capacity through coaching cycles, collaborative planning, modeling, and reflective conversations.

Instructional coaches serve as non-evaluative partners who work alongside teachers and teams to implement district instructional priorities, enhance classroom practices, and promote consistent, high-quality instruction across the school system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate ongoing coaching cycles that include planning, modeling, observation, feedback, and reflection
  • Support teachers in implementing effective instructional practices aligned to district priorities 
  • Provide non-evaluative, actionable feedback grounded in student evidence
  • Model instructional strategies and co-teach lessons as needed
  • Additional duties may include math-focused instructional support, onboarding and mentoring of new teachers

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education and/or related field    Valid teaching credential
  • Minimum of 3—5 years of successful classroom teaching experience
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes
  • Experience working with adult learners preferred

 

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong instructional expertise across content areas or specific disciplines
  • Ability to facilitate reflective coaching conversations
  • Knowledge of effective teaching and learning practices
  • Ability to analyze student data and apply findings to instruction
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with teachers and staff
  • Organizational and time management skills to support multiple responsibilities

Preferred Skills & Competencies:

  • Support instructional coaching aligned to district curriculum, PLC processes, and instructional priorities
  • Ability to facilitate PLCs focused on data analysis, instructional planning, and student achievement
  • Knowledge and support of Kids at Hope, PBIS, and Restorative Practices to support positive school culture

Additional Information:

Instructional Coaches will be selected to support designated grade-level bands. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and a commitment to supporting the district's instructional priorities. Instructional Coaches will work collaboratively with school and district leadership to ensure alignment of instructional practices, maintain consistent communication with administrators, teachers, and support staff, and contribute to system-wide instructional coherence. Additional responsibilities may include providing targeted instructional support, facilitating collaboration, supporting district initiatives aligned to teaching and learning goals, and assisting with the onboarding and mentoring of new teachers.
