Job Description:

Ridgeline Academy is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and collaborative Special Education Teacher to support K–12 students in a student-centered learning environment. Collaboration is essential, and we are looking for a strong team player who is committed to knowing and growing each child, every day.

The ideal candidate will support students with diverse learning abilities through individualized instruction and inclusive practices that promote academic, social-emotional, and life-skill development. This educator will create a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment while collaborating closely with colleagues, families, and support staff to ensure success for all learners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs
  • Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and teaching strategies to meet individual student needs
  • Assess student skills and use data to develop effective instructional plans and interventions
  • Provide direct and indirect instructional support in a positive and structured environment
  • Employ a variety of teaching techniques and strategies to support diverse learners
  • Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with students, families, and staff
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, related service providers, and support staff
  • Foster a safe, inclusive classroom where students feel confident taking academic risks
  • Support students in developing academic, social-emotional, and life skills necessary for long-term success
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Participate in professional development and continuous improvement opportunities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Valid Arizona Special Education teaching certification or ability to obtain certification
  • Valid Arizona fingerprint clearance card
  • Experience working with K–12 students with diverse learning needs
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Patience, creativity, flexibility, and a passion for supporting all learners
  • Commitment to student-centered learning and continuous improvement
