Instructions for Elementary

Qualifications: 
1. Potential candidates must have a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a non-teaching-based area and have been fingerprinted by the start of the program to obtain an alternative teaching certificate. 

2. Program candidates must follow a 199-day work calendar and must be available for the entirety of the extended calendar. Work days are 7/13/2026 - 5/28/2027.


3. Program completion results in a GPS Institutional Recommendation for a teaching certificate in the State of Arizona only, not transferable to other states. 


4. Program participants will be asked to make a two-year commitment to GPS working as a teacher beyond program completion, with the goal of GPS building a relationship with each teacher that spans their whole career.
