Job Description:
JOB CLASSIFICATION SUMMARY
Responsible for providing general warehousing or custodial services, ensuring receipt and
distribution of materials and/or cleanliness of facilities.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
This is a semi-skilled classification responsible for performing maintenance or operational
activities; processes, moves and lifts supplies, takes inventory and/or provides basic training to new staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The following are intended to describe core work functions of this classification. While the level and broad nature of essential duties may not change, specific work tasks will vary over time depending on the District’s needs.
* In-person attendance is an essential function of this classification.
• Loads, transports and delivers materials and/or supplies in a timely fashion;
• Maintains and safeguards materials and equipment;
• Inspects assigned vehicle before each operation for mechanical defects and reports any
such defects to the appropriate individual(s);
• Assists in maintaining grounds;
• Cleans and preserves designated spaces, equipment, etc. in the building;
• Obtains and sets up needed equipment; and,
• Performs related work as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE
• Work safety policies, procedures, and practices.
• Basic maintenance methods, tools, and equipment.
• Proper use and handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Basic facilities and grounds maintenance practices.
SKILLS
• Maintaining accurate records.
• Using basic hand and power tools safely.
• Customer service principals, practices and etiquette
• Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers,
supervisors, the general public and others to sufficiently exchange or convey information
and to receive work direction.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED and two years of related experience; or an equivalent
combination of directly-related education and experience.
Required Certifications/Licenses:
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC).
POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES
Assigned to Warehouse:
• Receives goods into Warehouse by verifying actual quantities and quality against
recorded quantities while rejecting damaged and substituted goods;
• Routes to sites goods received or ordered through Warehouse systems;
• Communicates with vendors to expedite delivery of orders;
• Receives and delivers inter-office/unit mail, meters postage on authorized letters and
packages, processes bulk mail and delivers outgoing mail to the U.S. Post Office.
• Prepares parcels for mailing or shipping;
• Loads, stocks, receives, fills orders for Warehouse and District Sites; and,
• Assists with physical inventories.
