Job Description:
Position Summary: We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Special Education Teacher for 7th and 8th grades who will manage a diverse caseload of students, develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), teach core content classes, and provide the specially designed instruction outlined in IEPs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment and ensuring all students achieve their highest potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management:
- Manage a caseload of 7th and 8th-grade students receiving special education services.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate records for all assigned students.
- Act as the primary point of contact for families and collaborate with parents, teachers, and support staff to address student needs.
IEP Development and Implementation:
- Develop and write Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs, in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Monitor and report on students' progress toward meeting IEP goals.
- Facilitate IEP meetings and ensure timely completion of all related documentation.
Instructional Support:
- Teach classes to students, adapting instruction to address the individual needs and learning styles of each student.
- Deliver specially designed instruction as outlined in students' IEPs, providing additional support in reading, writing, and organizational skills when necessary.
- Employ evidence-based teaching strategies and differentiated instruction to promote academic growth and success.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and related service providers to create a cohesive approach to student learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure students are receiving the services and support they need to succeed.
- Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and address concerns.
Compliance and Professionalism:
- Stay informed of special education laws, policies, and best practices to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
- Attend and participate in professional development opportunities, staff meetings, and training sessions as required.
- Collect and analyze student data to inform instructional decisions and document progress.
Qualifications:
Education: A bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
Certification: Must possess a valid Arizona Special Education Teacher certification.
Experience:
- Experience teaching middle school students and working with students with diverse learning needs.
- Prior experience writing IEPs and providing specially designed instruction is preferred.
Skills:
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively manage and prioritize a diverse caseload.
- Proficiency in differentiating instruction and adapting curriculum to meet individual needs.
Other:
Pay: From $56,500.00 per year, commensurate with experience
