The Academic Evaluator supports the school psychologist and special education team by conducting academic assessments for students referred for special education evaluations and re-evaluations. This position assists in gathering academic data, administering standardized and curriculum-based assessments, organizing evaluation materials, and supporting compliance with state and federal special education requirements.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, collaborative, and experienced in working with students in educational settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer standardized academic assessments under the supervision of the school psychologist

  • Conduct classroom observations and collect academic performance data

  • Assist in preparing evaluation reports and maintaining confidential student records

  • Collaborate with school psychologists, special education staff, and general education teachers

  • Help coordinate evaluation schedules and communicate assessment timelines

  • Ensure assessments are administered according to standardized protocols

  • Support compliance with IDEA timelines, FERPA, and district policies

  • Participate in Assessment Planning Team meetings as appropriate

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field

  • Experience working with students in school settings preferred

  • Knowledge of special education processes and assessment practices preferred

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism

  • Experience with educational data systems and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience assisting with academic testing or intervention programs

  • Familiarity with standardized academic assessments

  • Experience working with students with disabilities and diverse learning needs

Hours: Part-time, 20 hours per week

Starting Salary: $25,000-$35,000 commensurate with experience
