Job Title: Accounting Coordinator
Location: School District Office
Employment Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Exempt Position
Salary Range: $40,000–$55,000 annually
Benefits: Full benefits package included (health, dental, vision, paid leave, and participation in the Arizona State Retirement System)
Position Summary:
The Accounting Coordinator supports the financial and administrative operations of the school district. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, assisting with human resources functions, and managing accounts receivable and payable. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and manage district payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and policies
- Assist with HR functions, including onboarding, employee records management, and benefits coordination
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable, including invoicing, collections, and vendor payments
- Maintain financial records and assist with budget tracking and reporting
- Support audits and ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations
- Communicate effectively with staff, vendors, and stakeholders regarding financial matters
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred
- Experience in payroll, accounting, or HR functions preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office
