- Guide students through an integrated, inquiry-based curriculum
- Support the academic, social, and emotional development of children ages 9–12
- Build meaningful relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Contribute to a cohesive and respectful learning environment rooted in Montessori principles
- Help bring learning to life through experiential opportunities, including regular field trips that extend classroom studies throughout the year
Signature Upper Elementary Experiences
- Participate in our 6th Grade Capstone Trip to New York and Boston, part of an established curriculum that deepens students’ understanding of history, culture, and independence
- Support and help plan meaningful, curriculum-connected field trips that enrich learning beyond the classroom
What We’re Looking For
- State teaching credential or Montessori Upper Elementary certification (AMI/AMS or equivalent preferred)
- Experience working with elementary-aged children
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- A reflective, growth-oriented mindset
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and whole-child education
Why You’ll Love Being Part of MEC
- Competitive Benefits Package – Health & dental insurance, 403b with matching funds
- Work-Life Balance – 9 paid leave days, summers & holidays off
- Inclusive Team Culture – Collaborate with a supportive, child-centered teaching team
- Focus on Growth – Opportunities for continued professional development
