Job Description:

Position Summary:

The paraprofessional provides support to classroom teachers and students in a high school secure education setting. The role focuses on assisting with instructional activities, classroom management, and student supervision to enhance the learning environment and promote student success.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Assist the classroom teacher in delivering instructional activities and supporting student learning.

·         Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce lessons, clarify instructions, or provide additional academic support.

·         Support students in staying focused, organized, and on task during instructional periods.

·         Assist with classroom management, including behavior monitoring and promoting positive behavior.

Qualifications:

·         High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or completion of two years of postsecondary education preferred.

·         Prior experience working with adolescents or in an educational setting is a plus.

·         Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

·         Patience, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

·         Familiarity with basic educational technology and tools.
