Chandler Unified School District is hiring for an Accounts Payable Technician.
CHANDLER UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

JOB TITLE: ACCOUNTS TECHNICIAN
CALENDAR: 2611 (12 MONTHS)
SALARY: MINIMUM ENTRY $21.40

Paid Employee Health Insurance - Effective the first of the month following 30 days of active employment, all employees in a benefit eligible position are

Voluntary Health Benefit - All employees working at least 20 hours per week are eligible for voluntary benefits, e.g. Dental, vision, and short-term

Employee Childcare - Offered to CUSD employees at discounted rates for children age 1 through 5 years old and Before/After School care.
Arizona State Retirement - Employees working at least 20 hours per week are automatically enrolled in the AZ retirement system (ASRS). Contributions
are shared by the employer and employee with each contributing 12.00%.
Social Security/Medicare - Employee contribution 7.65%.
Paid Time Off Leave - Employees earn up to one day per month.
Liability Insurance - All employees are automatically covered at no cost.
Disability Insurance - Long term disability insurance is provided by ASRS after 180 days. Short term disability insurance is available at the employee's
expense.
New hires - Upon initial employment, the starting hourly rate will be determined based upon experience in a job with like duties held in the previous ten
years. Volunteer work, temporary employment, substitute employment, part-time work, or partial years will not be granted experience credit.
Candidates with two or more years of experience will receive 1% for two years of experience, and an additional 1% per year not to exceed the
maximum hiring range of 5%. An associate degree in a like field may also be considered for initial salary placement (1%), not to exceed the maximum
hiring range of 5%.
Job Goal
Perform accounting/clerical services in compliance with federal, state, county, and district accounting regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Fundamental knowledge of accounting practices and procedures
- Ability to work with standard software products
- Knowledge of and adherence to all policies, regulations, and rules
Core Job Functions:
- Audits all invoices, bills, and receipts for accuracy and legal compliance. Resolves invoice discrepancies and issues and obtains authorization from designated personnel prior to input for payment.
- Maintains current knowledge of applicable State of Arizona tax law requirements concerning sales tax, excise tax, and TPT/use tax.
- Prepares adjustments to compensating tax records and overpayments to the State of Arizona.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, problem solve, and meet deadlines with accurate attention to detail while working with frequent interruptions.
- Processes invoice checks, vendor credits and refunds, District personnel travel reimbursement, and refunds to parents/students.
- Creates invoice payments, batches, and vouchers for payment within the software system.
