2027 School Year)
The Tucson Unified School District is looking for an Executive Director of Curriculum and
Instruction to drive districtwide academic achievement through rigorous curriculum evaluation and the implementation of evidence-based instructional coaching. In this role, you will chair curriculum councils, oversee leadership development pathways, and ensure that all professional learning is strictly aligned with district strategic goals and state compliance standards. By partnering with Assessment and Evaluation, you will monitor instructional effectiveness and refine delivery systems to close achievement gaps and strengthen the district’s educational mission.

SUMMARY
The Executive Director of Curriculum, Instruction & Professional Learning provides strategic
leadership for the district’s instructional core. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality Tier I instruction across all schools through aligned curriculum design, instructional frameworks, professional learning systems, leadership development, and instructional coaching. The Executive Director leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of K–12 curriculum and professional learning systems, including teacher induction, leadership development, and districtwide instructional priorities. The position ensures instructional coherence, research-based practice, and alignment to district goals, state standards, and accountability requirements.

FTE: 1.0 - 8 hours per day
SALARY RANGE: $103,839.58 - $120,554.53 - Commensurate with Experience
