Job Summary:
· Rare in-state travel may be required for this position.
The Arizona Department of Education currently utilizes a hybrid work environment, with up to two days of remote work (contingent upon business needs). Candidates should apply with an ability and willingness to work in-office up to five days per week as business needs necessitate.
Job Duties:
· Review and analyze student data submitted by districts and charter schools for accuracy and compliance
· Partner with the SF Payments team and Local Education Agencies (LEAs) to correct data issues impacting ADM calculations and other state aid funding sources
· Identify discrepancies and explain school finance formulas and ADM calculation methods such as online instruction, CTEDs, alternative schools, and dropout recovery schools
· Respond to requests for information regarding student reporting and funding from districts, charter schools, and internal stakeholders
· Support the supervisor in developing, revising, and implementing internal and external procedures
· Independently manage assigned projects and maintain comprehensive documentation for operational processes and systems
· Review and validate business rules for system updates driven by internal policy changes or legislative requirements
· Develop user acceptance testing (UAT) plans
· Monitor system updates for completeness and accuracy
· Identify, document, and report data issues and required system corrections to the Director
· Plan, develop, and deliver training materials, presentations, and workshops for Local Education Agencies (LEAs) related to School Finance reporting
· Work independently or as part of a team to deliver training
· Analyze training feedback and operational data to identify trends
· Recommend process improvements based on findings
· Update training materials, procedure manuals, and internal guidance based on gathered feedback
· Maintain a working knowledge of student information systems (SIS) and data-reporting processes
