Assistant Principal STMS 2026-2027SY
Description This is an 11 month position
Supports District schools and principals in their effort to foster an optimal educational
environment for students. To assist the principal in setting the tone of the school and in
directing and supervising the middle school program; to use leadership skills in the promoting of
the educational development of each student; and to make the school an attractive, pleasant,
and productive place in which to work and learn.
MAJOR TASKS:
Exercises proper management of the school for unplanned as well as routine daily
operation.
Evaluates and supervises faculty and staff as assigned by principal.
Assists the principal in ensuring implementation of adopted curriculum.
Performs as a leader of the school in the area of staff personnel.
Develops and maintains effective community relations.
Functions as an instructional leader of the school.
Functions as the administrator of student activities and athletics.
Functions as the school leader for pupil personnel services.
Plans and participates in professional growth activities.
Oversees development of master schedule
Coordinates 504
Assumes responsibility for the implementation of all Governing Board policies and
regulations regarding staff members and students under assistant principal’s authority.
Performs tasks assigned by the principal and keeps the principal informed about middle
school activities and problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Arizona Teaching Certificate and an appropriate Arizona Administrative Certificate.
Master’s Degree from an accredited institution approved by the Governing Board.
At least five (5) years’ successful teaching experience, or such alternatives as the
Governing Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
