JOB GOAL:

Provides the oversight and evaluation of elementary principals, the preschool through sixth grade instructional programs and school operations to ensure a climate and culture that promotes student achievement, growth, and college and career readiness.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Arizona Administrative Certificate
  • Superintendent certificate preferred
  • Elementary administration experience preferred
  • Demonstrate leadership ability in administration, instructional strategies and assessment, grant development, and program evaluation
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Three or more years successful administrative experience in a school district environment
  • Must pass a background clearance.
  • Must obtain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 261 Days; 12 Months 

REPORTS TO:   Superintendent

EVALUATION:  Initial evaluation to be completed no later than ninety (90) days after the first day of work; thereafter, annually by supervisor.

HOURS:  40 hours per week and may require longer hours - Monday-Friday

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

  1. Supports the Strategic Plan of Queen Creek Unified School District
  2. Assists each elementary site in developing annual goals and action plans related to school improvement
  3. Provides direct supervision and leadership coaching to elementary principals with an emphasis on quality instruction, student engagement and student/program outcomes
  4. Establishes and maintains efficient administrative procedures to support the teaching and learning functions of the district and support leadership development
  5. Manages and provides oversight of a wide variety of elementary programs for the purpose of ensuring programs are administered within the policies and procedures of the District and that services conform to established guidelines and regulations
  6. Plans, organizes, and directs the preparation of district, state, and federal reports to ensure compliance, secure funding, and provide thorough, complete, and effective communication; Prepares reports and studies for the purpose of providing information to the Board, Superintendent, and/or complying with regulatory requirements
  7. Keeps the Superintendent informed and works cooperatively with all other administrators in school and district-related matters; Keeps informed of government statutes, regulations and rules; recommend changes in policies and procedures which may be needed due to a change in provisions of the law
  8. Promotes effective communication among all members of the school community; Serves on district committees, participate in district activities, and represent the district as warranted or as directed by the Superintendent
  9. Maintains a high level of competence in the field of education, remaining current in issues related to areas of responsibility; Participates as a member of the District Leadership Team and Superintendent's Cabinet for the purpose of providing and receiving information and making decisions
  10. Maintains a high level of personal integrity and strong work ethic; Performs other job-related duties as assigned to advance district priorities.
