Job Description:
Holbrook Unified School District is seeking a dedicated and student-centered High School Resource English Teacher to join our special education team. This position provides specialized English instruction and academic support to high school students with disabilities in a resource setting while ensuring students receive services aligned with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting diverse learners, skilled in collaboration with general education staff, and committed to helping students succeed in the least restrictive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialized English instruction for high school students with disabilities in a resource classroom.
Develop and implement instruction aligned with student IEP goals and Arizona academic standards.
Serve as a case manager for assigned students with disabilities, including writing IEPs, coordinating services, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Monitor student progress and complete required documentation, including progress reports and evaluation data.
Collaborate with general education teachers to support student success in inclusive classroom settings.
Communicate regularly with families, staff, and related service providers regarding student progress and needs.
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings.
Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and independence.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid Arizona Special Education Teaching Certificate.
Ability to meet all Arizona Department of Education certification requirements.
Knowledge of special education law, IEP development, and compliance procedures.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Secondary English Certification or the ability to obtain it.
Experience teaching secondary students with disabilities.
Experience with IEP case management and progress monitoring.
Experience collaborating with general education teachers in inclusive settings.
