Summary:
Provide direct or consultative services to students to help reduce or eliminate disabilities related to speech and/or language in order to derive the full benefit from the district's educational programs.
Essential Functions:
- Provides direct speech language therapy services to students including conducting thorough screenings, assessment and diagnosis of speech, voice, and language impairments; interprets results to parents and teachers and writes appropriate recommendations and reports.
- Develops, implements, and monitors Individualized Education Plans for students eligible for speech and language services.
- Collaborates with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement therapy by making suggestions for the student's daily activities.
- Assists in proper referrals of individuals to agencies and specialists in the community, as appropriate.
- Provides information and support to parents and families when appropriate.
- Provides in-service education and serves as a consultant to teachers and school staff members on topics concerning speech services.
- Keeps thorough ongoing records for the individual student receiving therapy or other school provided speech services.
- Participates in professional growth activities.
- Establishes and maintains good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
- Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.

ANNUAL SALARY: $71,000 - $93,000
- $2,500 Stipend for valid Certificate of Clinical Competence
- $3,000 Stipend for Bilingual Provision
Required Qualifications:
To be eligible for this position, an applicant must meet the following required qualifications. In addition, verification of these required qualifications is necessary.
Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology.
- Current Arizona Standard Speech-Language Pathologist Certification from the Arizona Department of Education.
- Current Arizona Department of Health Speech Language Pathologist License.
- American Hearing and Speech Association Clinical Certification of Competence preferred.
- Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).
