Pine Strawberry Elementary School District is accepting applications for a full time certified elementary teacher to provide instruction for students which is appropriate for their level of understanding and needs.

 

Pay: Based on education/experience 

Reports to: Principal/Superintendent 

 

Qualifications:

  • Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate with reading endorsement

  • Current IVP Fingerprint Card

  • Demonstrates knowledge of related subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials.

  • Utilizes a variety of effective instructional and management techniques.

  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative and effective professional relationships with teachers, administrators, parents, students

  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with parents and school personnel at all levels

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver explicit, systematic, and multisensory instruction in phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.

  • Implement evidence-based programs aligned to the Science of Reading/Orton-Gillingham

  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly

  • Administer and/or support universal screeners, diagnostics, and progress monitoring tools (DIBELS 8, STAR, IXL)

  • Analyze data to identify students needing Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports

  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to use data for instructional decisions

  • Provide coaching, modeling, and feedback to teachers on effective reading practices

  • Support district/school literacy initiatives and curriculum implementation

  • Assist with Move On When Reading (MOWR) documentation and interventions

  • Help ensure interventions align with Arizona statutes and ADE guidance

  • Communicate with families regarding student progress and reading support strategies

  • Provide resources and guidance for at-home reading practice

  • Stay current on research-based reading instruction and Arizona literacy requirements

  • Utilizes a variety of effective instructional and management techniques

  • Considers the individual learning needs and abilities of students, as well as school and district learning goals

  • Uses available technology or instructional media to enhance the students’ learning experiences

  • Establishes, supports and administers positive classroom management in accordance with regulations

  • Provides a positive and safe environment that is conducive to learning

  • Takes an active role in establishing and supporting school goals and resolving school concerns

  • Communicates an expectation of success for all students
