JOB GOAL: The Elementary Math Interventionist and Data Specialist provides math intervention by working directly with students, supports the collection and preparation of a variety of student learning data, facilitates the data PLC process, and assists staff in using data to improve student achievement. 

 

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Valid State of Arizona Teaching Certification.
  2. Mathematics Specialist, K-8 Endorsement required
  3. Five (5) years of successful teaching experience preferred
  4. Experience in analyzing testing data preferred.
  5. Must pass a background clearance
  6. Must obtain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 191 days; 10 months

REPORTS TO:  Principal

HOURS:  20 hours per week and may require longer hours - Monday-Friday 

CLASSIFICATION:  Exempt

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

  1. Analyzes student performance data from School City benchmark assessments, AASA, FastBridge, AZELLA, AzSCI, and other standardized tests to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement.; Coordination of test administration for School City benchmarks, AASA, ACT, ACT Aspire, and other assessments before, during, and after testing. Responsibilities include uploading student information, completing required trainings, and collaborating with site technology staff, principals, and district personnel to ensure successful test administration
  2. Leads and supports Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings focused on formative assessment data, instructional dialogue, and Reteach/Enrich (Achievement Hour).; Compiles and communicates data reports to site and district-level personnel, highlighting instructional strengths and areas for targeted support.
  3. Provides support to district-level coordinators, directors, and Assistant and Associate Superintendents as needed.
  4. Attends curriculum, data, and assessment meetings and participates in related professional development as required.; Spends 50% of their time working directly with students to provide targeted math interventions.
  5. Uses data from multiple assessment sources to identify students at risk in core academic areas.; Maintains deep knowledge of Arizona Mathematics and English Language Arts (ELA) academic standards to support aligned instruction and interventions.
  6. Analyzes student performance data to determine needs for remediation, re-teaching, or additional tutoring support.
  7. Participates in regular instructional team leader meetings to support and promote student learning in alignment with school and district strategic priorities.; Attends all principal-directed training sessions and meetings.
  8. Collaborates with classroom teachers to align intervention supports with core instruction to ensure student success.; Maintains accurate records of individual student progress and shares data with principals, teachers, and families.
  9. Collaborates with the principal in all aspects of assessment planning and implementation.
  10. Provides technical assistance to the building principal and school staff as needed.; Performs other job-related duties as assigned to advance district priorities.
