Principal creates, maintains, and facilitates leadership, supervisory, administrative, and managerial proficiencies to meet the needs, mission, goals, and objectives of the school and its stakeholders.

 Essential Functions:

• Provide strong instructional leadership for implementation of Arizona academic standards addressed in the District’s curriculum.
• Develop and nurture a productive learning climate.
• Involve and lead staff in interpreting test data to improve instruction and achievement.
• Evaluate the school's instructional strategies and make adjustments as necessary in order to achieve success in all programs.
• Supervise and evaluate staff members in accordance with District procedures.
• Safeguard health and well-being of pupils and staff.
• Establish professional relationships with school patrons.
• Maintain and improve the physical aspects of the school plant.
• Administer the financial budget of the school plant and program.
• Select, orient and develop school personnel.
• Implement Board policies and administrative rules and regulations relating to the school.

Required Qualifications:

To be eligible for this position, an applicant must meet the following required qualifications.  Verification of these required qualifications is necessary.

• Three years of verified teaching experience in grades Prekindergarten-12;
• Completion of a program in educational administration for principals;
• A valid Fingerprint Clearance Card from the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
• A valid Arizona Department of Education Principal Certification or evidence of eligibility to receive Arizona Principal Certification prior to the first day of the contract.
