Job Description:
The Assistant Principal supports the effective administration and management of Tanque Verde High School. Working closely with the Principal, teachers, staff, students, and parents, the Assistant Principal contributes to creating a positive learning environment, ensuring academic success, and maintaining a safe and inclusive school community.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Facilitate effective communication and teamwork among faculty and staff members.
• Assist the Principal in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the school, ensuring compliance with state and district policies and regulations.
• Support the development and implementation of curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment practices that align with state standards and promote student achievement.
• Collaborate with teachers to provide guidance, support, and resources for instructional improvement.
• Conduct classroom observations, provide constructive feedback, and assist in teacher evaluation processes.
• Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and orientation of new teachers and staff members.
• Promote positive student behavior through the implementation of effective discipline policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with parents, guardians, and the community to foster positive relationships and engagement in students' education.
• Assist student support services, such as special education, counseling, and extracurricular activities, ensuring students' diverse needs are met.
• Participate in school-wide initiatives and committees to address school improvement goals and enhance the overall educational experience.
• Support the Principal in managing budgetary resources, including monitoring expenditures and allocating funds appropriately.
• Assist in the coordination of standardized testing, data analysis and the use of data to inform instructional decision-making.
• Serve as an instructional leader, staying updated on educational research, best practices, and emerging trends in K-12 education.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Must maintain valid and current Arizona Principal Certification.
• Must hold a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university
