Reports to: Principal
Job Classification: Exempt
Position Type: Full-Time, 10-Month Position
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Grade Level: Middle School (7th & 8th Grade)
Summary
The Middle School Math Teacher will deliver engaging and rigorous instruction to 7th and 8th grade students, fostering a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and promoting academic growth. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education, skilled in differentiated instruction, and committed to creating a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging math lessons aligned with Arizona state standards for 7th and 8th grade students.
- Assess student learning through formative and summative evaluations, including quizzes, tests, and performance tasks.
- Modify instructional strategies and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Administer standardized assessments and use results to inform instruction.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
- Communicate regularly with families to share student achievements and address concerns.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student success and contribute to a positive school culture.
- Integrate technology tools to enhance instruction and student engagement.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student growth.
- Implement differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
- Facilitate hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences to deepen mathematical understanding.
- Promote a classroom environment that values respect, responsibility, and academic curiosity.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to improve instructional practices.
- Uphold school policies and ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Math or a related field.
- Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Fluent in English (written and oral communication).
- Valid Arizona Driver’s License.
Physical Demands
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Lifting and carrying classroom materials.
- Bending, stooping, reaching, and typing.
- Managing classroom environment and responding to emergencies.
