Position Overview: The Technology Assistant extend technical support to all internal IT and non-IT employees as well as customers facing problems related to hardware, software, and networking. They are responsible for troubleshooting problems faced by the end-users of PCs, laptops, and mobile phones by identifying issues and analyzing them.
The Assistant receives requests raised by users through emails, telephones or in-person, as they are the single point-of-contact for any organization. They, therefore, handle these issues independently.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of basic computer hardware and peripherals
- Proficient with Microsoft Operation Systems
- Familiar with Windows 7 & Windows 10
- Familiar with Mobile Phone Use, Setup, and Troubleshooting (Android, IOS, Windows Phone)
- Familiar with Security, firewall and Anti-Virus software
- Familiar with remote assistance, remote desktop (RDP)
- Must have basic networking (TCP/IP) knowledge
- Ability to assume responsibility, exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality of materials and information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must maintain a clean driving record
Specific Duties:
- Assist the IT director with projects, daily tasks and reporting
- Issuing and setting up of computer equipment, software programs, G-suite etc. to new employees
- Collecting and deactivating of computer equipment, software programs, G-suite etc. of separating employees.
- User Accounts setup and configuration (AD, G-suite, Microsoft)
- Installing, routine troubleshooting, basic repairing computer systems, hardware, printers and other computer peripherals.
- Basic networking and configuration (WAN, LAN) troubleshooting
- Identifying, researching and resolving routine technical problems of low complexity.
- Providing basic networking assistance to users, including help with network connections and passwords.
- Updating and maintaining documentation, both physical & digital, including: asset inventory, software licenses, vendor information, warranties, configurations, and serial numbers
- Coordinating with other teams or departments to resolve user problems.
- Escalate all non-routine and/or complex technical issues/requests to IT Director.
- Provide support to users in local and remote offices
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Frequently required to sit for long periods operating office equipment, computer and phone
- Occasionally required to stand for long periods of time
- Occasionally required to reach, twist, bend, kneel or squat for installing and maintaining equipment
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-100 pounds
- Occasionally driving car or van
- Moderate noise levels
