Job Title: 7th–8th Grade Social Studies Teacher

Location: La Paloma Academy Lakeside– K–8 Charter School
Position Type: Full-Time

Starting Salary: $44,000

Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate, dedicated 7th–8th Grade Social Studies Teacher to join our middle school team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to think critically about history, civics, geography, and current events, while encouraging them to become responsible citizens and lifelong learners.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging, standards-based social studies lessons for grades 7 and 8.
  • Create a classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and a love of learning.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Incorporate technology, projects, and interactive learning experiences.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide meaningful feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student success.
  • Participate in school-wide events, professional development, and community activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of La Paloma Academy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field. 
  • Valid Arizona teaching certification (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Experience working with middle school students preferred.
