QUALIFICATIONS 

1. Current Arizona Elementary or Secondary Teacher Certificate
2. Applicable Arizona Certificate Endorsement(s)
3. Minimum of three years of teaching experience
4. Experience with EL state proficiency and the ELA academic standards
5. Bilingual, preferred
6. Knowledge, skill and or experience in the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) strategies or be willing to receive training in those strategies

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Oversee and coordinate the district’s Structured English Immersion educational program aligned with the State SEI Model requirements to ensure academic success for English Learner (EL) students.
2. Monitor federal and state requirements and regulations of the program.
3. Maintain familiarity with State standardized tests to adapt curriculum to maximize student achievement.
4. Coordinate professional development to support SEI Model placement, assessment, reassessment, and existing requirements of students.
5. Organize and administer assessments following state expectations. 
6. Evaluate language and academic summative assessments to ensure EL students are meeting/exceeding the ELA Standards.
7. Collect, analyze, and represent achievement data as required by the Arizona Department of Education.
8. Analyze, develop, implement, and track intervention plans and strategies.
9. Comply with state and federal documentation requirements.
10. Coordinate and collaborate with other professional staff members.
11. Act as a resource person to General Education Teachers and EL teachers and communicate the latest developments in EL practices to improve student achievement.
