Job Description:
Basic Function: Responsible for the instruction and facilitation of student learning in an online environment. Provide tutoring, assignment feedback, student remediation, and enrichment to promote an exceptional student experience. Responsibilities 1. Set and maintain teacher-required hours in the LMS each week. 2. Monitor student progress, participation, and performance daily using the LMS dashboard. 3. Manage student reviews and retakes. 4. Issue final grade reports for completed courses, and open final exams once a student has passed the cumulative review. 5. Follow New Student Welcome procedures, including sending a welcome email and course syllabus, and placing a welcome call. 6. Send weekly progress update emails (can be automated) weekly, as well as respond to all emails and inquiries within twenty-four business hours. 7. Monitor SIS communication log, specifically those with inactivity or concerns, and work together with the Mentor to support the student’s personal and academic success. 8. Perform other related duties as assigned. Education/Training Degree: Bachelor’s degree required. A valid teaching certificate is required. Master’s degree preferred. Experience: Two or more years of teaching experience required. Online delivery experience preferred. North Star Global Academy is an established online private high school. The position is year-round. Pay is dependent on the number of students a teacher manages. The maximum hours for part-time teachers are 20 hours per week.
