SUMMARY
To work in a partnership with students, staff, parents and the community in accordance with the district’s vision and mission to promote student achievement. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid Arizona Department of Education Teaching Certificate Middle Grades with Science endorsement or CTE Certificate in Agriculture.
Must have the authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card for educators through The Arizona Department of Education.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
Guide the learning of students in accordance with the district’s philosophy of instruction toward the achievement of curriculum goals.
Align teaching and available resources to the district curriculum.
Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Arizona Department of Education, board policies, administrative guidelines, and the district curriculum.
Conduct ongoing assessments of student learning and use results to plan and implement instruction.
Work cooperatively with other teachers to modify curricula and instruction as needed for special education, 504, and ELL students according to guidelines established.
Work cooperatively with the campus and district instructional supervisors, leaders, and department heads to improve instruction.
Assist the Curriculum Director to continually improve the quality of the Agriculture Sciences program through instruction, counseling, management, and leadership to produce success for all students and campus programs.
Promote and support FFA Chapters for all Agriculture Sciences departments.
Maintain provided Tribal Allocation funds for Agriculture Sciences.
Offer accelerated instruction to each student who meets any of the state “at risk” criteria for the student to perform satisfactorily on the state assessment.
Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to campus and district requirements.
Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned; sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal.
Use available technologies as appropriate teaching and learning tools.
Integrate the instruction of technology into subject area teaching.
Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
Maintain a professional and cordial relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
Adhere to local, state, and federal guidelines regarding confidentiality.
Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with students, parents, and other staff members.
Respond to parent phone calls/messages in a timely manner.
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students.
Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and handbook.
Provides for care and protection of school property and be held accountable for books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
Maintains accurate student accounting and grading records in compliance with local and state requirements.
Assists in upholding and implementing administrative regulations and board policy.
Manage and utilize data effectively for systemic process and program analysis.
Account for the accuracy and verification of all student program data and reports.
Implement data-driven decision making for improvement efforts based on best practices.
Manage and utilize policy effectively for maintaining systemic processes and practices.
Account for the verification of the correct policy regarding all decisions and correspondence.
Implement effective policy-driven decision making.
Seek and participate in professional development activities to improve instructional effectiveness thereby increasing student achievement.
Participate collaboratively with colleagues to reflect on one’s teaching practices.
Stay abreast of developments in the profession and display openness to change and innovation.
Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies.
Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.

Organize and facilitate Agricultural instructional programs.
Demonstrates an understanding of Agricultural curriculum, subject content, and the developmental needs of students by providing relevant learning experiences in science, technology, engineering, agricultural, and mathematics topics.
Plans using the state’s standards, the school’s curriculum, effective strategies, resources, and data to meet the needs of all students.
Effectively engages students in learning by using a variety of instructional strategies to meet individual learning needs.
Systematically gathers, analyzes, and uses all relevant data to measure student academic progress, guide instructional content and delivery methods, and provides timely feedback to both students and parents throughout the school year.
Uses resources, routines, and procedures to provide a respectful, positive, safe, student-centered environment that is conducive to learning.
Maintains a commitment to professional ethics, communicates effectively, and takes responsibility for and participates in professional growth that results in enhanced student learning.
The work of the teacher results in acceptable, measurable, and appropriate student academic progress.
Requires students to demonstrate critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, and technology in every classroom.
Engage students through STEAM activities both inside and outside the classroom.
Utilizes common core strategies in daily instruction.
Must meet any additional specific job requirements as indicated by the school.
Completes other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Provides substitute coverage as assigned by the supervisor on an as-needed basis.
Supervises assigned Paraprofessionals or Instructional Assistants, students and any assigned parent volunteers or chaperones.
