SUMMARY

Effectively manage the learning environment to prepare lesson plans, instruct students, evaluate and monitor students’ performance in order to advance student achievement. Understand and appreciate diversity. Work collaboratively with a team to plan instruction. Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

·         Arizona Special Education Cross Categorical, Mild/Moderate, or LD Certificate K-12

OR

·         Arizona Special Education – Hearing Impaired, Visually Impaired, Early Childhood Special Education OR Moderate/Severe Disabilities WITH Mild-Moderate Special Education Endorsement, PreK-12

·         Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

·         Demonstrated success in engaging African American and Latino students

·         Bilingual (Spanish) endorsement

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE

·         Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

·         Effective: 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR

·         LOCATION: Tucson Unified Virtual Academy/C.O.L.E. – Online

·         FTE : 1.0 FTE - 7.5 hours per day

·         Work Calendar: 9.5 month

·         Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language. For more information on salary schedule, please reference the Employee Agreements Webpage.

New Teachers to the District may be eligible for a one-time recruitment stipend (up to $5,000) if hired into one of the following positions: Ex Ed, Math, Science. 

Probationary Contracts will be issued for any contingent Certifications, Positions that are 0.6 FTE or less, and certified employees within their first three years with the District.
