Position Title: Teacher - Early Childhood Special Education Resource 2025-2026SY

Length of Work Yr: 9 months

Salary Range: $52,545 - $67,587  PLUS $2,000 SpEd Resource Addendum

Placement based on education and experience

Department: Student Services

Reports To: Director for Student Services and School Principal(s)

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Arizona certificate - Early Childhood Special Education

2. Knowledge of special education legal requirements.

3. Comprehensive understanding of supporting the needs of students with disabilities and providing exceptional learning experiences.

4. Strong commitment to fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that meets the developmental, academic, and social needs of children.

 PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Demonstrated experience working with early childhood and early elementary students across a variety of special education eligibility categories, ensuring personalized support and progress.

2. Ability to assess student progress and adapt teaching methods to achieve individual and group learning goals.

3. Skilled in fostering social and behavioral growth in students, employing strategies that encourage positive behavior and social interaction.

4. Ability to work cooperatively and collaborate with general education staff to enhance student progress and provide necessary accommodations and modifications in the general education environment.

5. Ability to effectively plan for and supervise instructional assistants, ensuring a coordinated and supportive learning environment.

6. Commitment to promoting student access to, and participation in, general education settings.

7. Knowledge and experience in implementing effective inclusive practices that support all learners.

8. Expertise in developing, implementing, and maintaining Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that are tailored to meet the unique needs of students while ensuring full compliance with state and district guidelines. This includes collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, regularly reviewing and updating IEPs, and ensuring that all goals, services, and accommodations are accurately reflected to support student success.

9. Dedicated to helping students achieve success within the Madison curriculum while meeting state standards and supporting each student’s growth.

10. Skilled in building strong partnerships with parents and guardians to ensure alignment and support in student progress and development.

11. Commitment to continuous professional growth through district training and staff development opportunities.

12. Actively participate in Faculty meetings, contribute to staff development initiatives, and engage in school-wide collaborative efforts.

13. Participate in Student Success Team (SST) meetings, Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) meetings, and IEP meetings, contributing valuable input to support student outcomes.
