Job Description:

Key Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Support HUSD Vision, Mission, Goals, and Strategic Plan.

 

Curriculum Development and Implementation:

  • Maintain a working knowledge of content specific Arizona State K-12 Standards and research-based instructional practices.
  • Lead the development, review, and refinement of district-wide curricula to ensure alignment with state and national standards.
  • Assist in the development of instructional maps and classroom implementation.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to design and implement rigorous and relevant instructional materials.
  • Facilitate the integration of technology and innovative practices into the curriculum.
  • Support district curriculum adoption process and implementation.
  • Review educational materials and programs, including supplemental resources.
  • Manage state and federally mandated programs within content area.
  • Support the implementation of campus and district’s enrichment and intervention programs and curriculums.

Professional Learning:

  • Collaborate with site and district administration to plan and coordinate professional learning and support to teachers, administrators, and stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing support to educators in implementing effective instructional strategies within content and using assessment data to inform instruction.
  • Participate in planning committees and facilitate professional learning sessions at annual New Teacher Orientation.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and collaboration among staff.

Data Analysis and Program Evaluation:

  • Analyze student performance data to identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement.
  • Support district implementation of Professional Learning Communities and Multi-Tiered System of Support processes.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and recommend adjustments to improve student outcomes.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for district leadership, school boards, and other stakeholders.

Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Serve as a liaison between the district office and school sites to ensure cohesive implementation of district initiatives.
  • Collaborate with principals, instructional coaches, and teachers to support school improvement efforts.
  • Participate in district committees and task teams as needed.
  • Support site-based specialists in content needs.
  • Provide support to district and sites on any state and district assessments as needed.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure curricula and instructional practices comply with state and federal regulations.
  • Assist in preparing required documentation and reports for audits and accountability purposes.
  • Support schools with state assessments as needed.
  • Review and provide recommendations for specialized course content and descriptions.

Equity and Inclusion:

  • Promote equitable access to high-quality educational resources for all students.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:  

  1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  2. Must hold valid Arizona Teacher Certification.
  3. Appropriately certified in subject area of position at time of hire is preferred.
  4. Must have SEI or equivalent endorsement on Certificate or able to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
  5. No convictions for felonies or crimes against children.
  6. Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  7. Evening and weekend hours may be required.
