Job Overview- NO CASE MANAGEMENT and meeting held within school hours
4 day work week with one Friday PD a month
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs, including those with autism and developmental disabilities. This role involves creating tailored educational experiences that promote academic growth, social skills, and emotional well-being. The Special Education Teacher will work closely with students, parents, and other educators to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that align with each student's unique strengths and challenges.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans based on students' IEPs to meet their educational needs.
- Utilize effective classroom management strategies to create a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with parents, specialists, and other educators to support student progress and address any concerns.
- Provide early intervention services to enhance students' developmental skills.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
- Foster social skills development through structured activities and peer interactions.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and progress toward IEP goals.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.
- No case management
- All meetings held within school hours
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field;
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to create an engaging learning environment.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
- Familiarity with tutoring techniques and early intervention strategies.
- Ability to effectively educate diverse learners using various instructional methods, including Montessori approaches.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with students, families, and colleagues.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive atmosphere that respects the dignity of all students.
