Salary Range:
$17.00 - $23.00 USD Hourly.

The Attendance Coordinator is responsible for collecting and maintaining student attendance information network wide; meeting district, state and federal requirements relating to attendance processes including parent notification; preparing and distributing attendance reports and materials; providing clerical support at school site; and communicating various information regarding activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
- Two (2) years of experience working as an office assistant and/or clerical role.
- Experience in customer service.
- Experience working in a K-12 setting, preferred.
- Experience using a student attendance record keeping program, strongly preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred.
- Active AZ Department of Public Safety (DPS) IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
- Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops a network wide approach to promoting the importance of regular student attendance through implementation of appropriate strategies.
- Analyzes and provides data to all stakeholders: network, administration, teachers, parents, and students regarding attendance.
- Oversees and monitors all aspects of the attendance functions at all sites.
- Ensures handbooks are up to date.
- Reconciles attendance data from state reports to collect, record, and post attendance using a (computerized attendance system) with an emphasis on accuracy.
- Documents all information regarding student absences called in to the attendance line for audit purposes.
- Overseas Immersion attendance reconciliation with state reporting.
- Works with site attendance staff to ensure all students are accounted for on a daily basis (K-12).
- Establishes and maintains accurate student attendance files. Keeps attendance records in accordance with AZ Records and Retention schedule.
- Generates and formats attendance reports from the computerized attendance system as needed for administrators, the Network, or State.
- Works with attendance staff to compile and distribute a daily list of excused and unexcused absences for teachers and administrators.
- Supports network sites in maintaining lists of students out of class for authorized school activities, maintains daily check-out log of all students leaving campus, and log of students returning to campus.
- Confers with administrators on student attendance, excessive absences, etc.
- Responds to inquiries from students, parents and the general public regarding school attendance policies.
- Answers phone/email inquiries. Updates network attendance correspondence.
- Oversees truancy reports and notifications for all sites to ensure proper procedure from site administration.
- Processes attendance withdrawals.
- Works cooperatively with other office staff, including the school nurse. Assists registrar when necessary. Attends meetings and training as assigned.
- Manipulates data from various reports, putting data in usable form for administrators, including such activities as disaggregating attendance data, compiling data from different reports into a single report, etc.
- Performs data entry and generates reports for year-end audit data verification as needed.
- Assists other staff as needed, either to cover needed functions or to assist in resolving problems.
- Maintains the confidentiality of the information stored and discussed in the Attendance and Administrative offices.
- Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

- Ability to run system-based reports, advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel and Outlook, and willingness to learn new software.

- Ability to communicate effectively while maintaining tact and diplomacy at all times.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines with great accuracy and attention to detail while working with frequent interruptions and minimal supervision.
- Ability to articulate, represent professional demeanor and ability to take initiative.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 15 lbs such as boxes, supplies, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
LOCATION:
Phoenix campus, South Phoenix Elementary campus and Ucent.
TRAVEL:
Travel is required for site visits, meetings, trainings and/or conferences. Locations may vary and may require overnight stays.
