FLSA STATUS: Exempt
CATEGORY: Regular, Full-time, 10-months
PAY RANGE: $65,00+ negotiable based upon experience and qualifications.
(**This position is NOT eligible for Prop 301 Performance Payout**)

EDUCATION/
CERTIFICATIONS: Preferred Education and Experience:
· Master’s or more advanced degree from an accredited institution in educational administration or leadership.
· Current Arizona Department of Education Principal’s certification.
· Minimum of three (3) years of effective classroom instruction in a Kindergarten through 8th grade school setting.
· Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint clearance card is required.
SUMMARY OF
QUALIFICATIONS: Responsible for the effective management of assigned areas of responsibility, including student discipline, staff supervision, facilities management, extracurricular activities, and general school operations. Provides support in the areas of student achievement, classroom instruction and school-wide curricular initiatives. Ensures the vision and culture of Ball Charter Schools is sustained by modeling effective leadership practices and consistent administration of regulations, policies, and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Works with Principal for state reporting relating to school safety and discipline incident data.
· Works with Principal in reporting of student and staff accidents, the delivery of required services, and interface with liability insurance providers, as required.
· Works with Principal in the preparation and updating of the faculty handbook and student handbook.
· Supervises student behavior and application of disciplinary policies consistent with the philosophy, values, policies and mission of the Ball Charter Schools and in accordance with due process and other laws and regulations.
· Works with Principal in partnering with parents and staff to ensure a safe, orderly environment that encourages students to take responsibility for behavior.
· Incorporates procedures for the early identification of potentially disruptive students and the conditions that create or enhance unacceptable behavior (e.g. bullying), and implementation of programs to address such conditions.
· Helps facilitate notification of appropriate personnel and agencies when there is evidence of substance abuse, child abuse, child neglect, severe medical or social conditions, or potential suicide.
· Oversees various areas of operations as assigned by the Principal at designated school location(s) possibly including, but not limited to, facilities and technology management, food services, Before and After Care program, safety and emergency planning, health office, volunteer program, transportation and field trips, extracurricular clubs and activities, and fund raising.
· Shares in planning and supervision of school-wide activities, which may include extracurricular, after- school, or evening events.
· Maintains visibility with students, staff, parents, and the community by regularly attending school and community functions.
· Assists in the selection, supervision, and evaluation of staff, as assigned by the Principal.
· Evaluation of teachers (as assigned by the Principal), may only be done if the Assistant has completed the Arizona Department of Education Certified Evaluator Training.
· Participates in curriculum, instruction, and assessment activities, including data analysis, planning and implementation of staff development activities and in-service programs, and active participation on site- based committees.
· Assists Principal in understanding and maintaining school finances in partnership with school administration to effectively manage the school budget.
· Participates in delivery of special education and 504 services at the school site level.
· Assists Principal in managing and/or delegating oversight of staff absences and management of substitute and/or temporary agency staffing.
· Assists in marketing the school as necessary in order to maintain attendance and represents Arizona Ball Charter Schools in a positive way in the community.
· Assists Principal with other operational duties, as assigned, which may include the creation and maintenance of school calendars, website administration, and routine parent and staff communication (newsletters, e-notices, marquee, etc.).
· Manages and/or delegates duties relating to student arrival and dismissal, recess, and lunch activities.
· Monitors attendance patterns and investigates absences, as necessary.
· Assists in ensuring personnel and student record keeping procedures comply with state and federal law and organizational policy. Responsible for ensuring compliance with procedures for the integrity of all public and school records, the protection of confidentiality of records and information gained as part of exercising professional duties, and use of discretion in sharing such information within legal confines.
· Other duties as assigned by the Principal.

The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat.
