Job Description:

1. Obey all traffic laws, observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses;
2. Enforce all bus regulations set forth by the district and state;
3. Inspects bus twice daily before each operation for mechanical defects;
4. Notifies proper authority immediately in case of mechanical failure or tardiness;
5. Transports and discharges authorized students only, and only at authorized stops;
6. Reports all accidents and completes required reports;
7. Participate in student safety training;
8. Reports undisciplined behavior to appropriate staff;
9. Assure that students follow safety rules when boarding and disembarking bus;
10. Collects student personal items left on the bus; returns to appropriate staff member(s);
11. Drives only on assigned bus routes ensuring timely pickup and discharge of students;
12. Prepares reports as required;
13. Keeps assigned bus clean;
14. Performs other related tasks as assigned.

SKILLS REQUIRED: 

• Ability to pass annual physical;
• Ability to pass annual drug test;
• Successful completion CPR/First Aid training;
• Successful completion of road test;
• Adequate communication skills to ensure order on the bus;
• Ability to pass physical performance test (Agility Test).
