The Charter School Principal is responsible for fostering a safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed school culture that promotes academic excellence and student well-being. This role requires strong instructional leadership, an understanding of trauma-informed practices, and a commitment to equitable, student-centered education. The Principal oversees curriculum implementation, staff development, student support services, budget administration, and compliance with state and federal regulations while prioritizing the social-emotional needs of students and staff.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in educational leadership
• Strong knowledge of curriculum design, instructional strategies, and student assessment.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Commitment to the mission and values of Arizona Center for Youth Resources and City View High School.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience within a charter school setting and working with diverse populations preferable.
• Proven track record of improving student achievement and teacher effectiveness.
• Familiarity with charter school regulations, governance, and accountability frameworks.

Background Check

Must have a reputation for honesty and trustworthiness. Misdemeanour and/or felony convictions may be disqualifying depending on type, number, severity, and how recent. The background check will consist of a reference checks, employment, education, and criminal background search.

ACYR is an at-will employer and any offer of employment with ACYR is contingent upon a successful completion of said background check.

Certification/Licenses/Other Requirements

Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card. Valid Arizona Driver's License. Position requires use of insured personal vehicle for agency business.

Physical Demands

Requires energetic interactions between the ACYR team members and students. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly. Ability to interact with students during activities also required.
