Job Title: Middle School Drama Teacher

Location: Isaac Middle School

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary: Isaac Middle School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Drama Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in theater arts, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a love of drama in students. The Middle School Drama Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive drama curriculum, directing school productions, and encouraging student creativity and confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an engaging and inclusive drama curriculum for middle school students (grades 6-8).
  • Plan and conduct drama classes that include acting, directing, scriptwriting, and theater history.
  • Direct and produce school theater productions, including plays, musicals, and other performance projects.
  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and creativity.
  • Provide individualized support and feedback to students to help them improve their skills and confidence.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate drama activities into the broader school curriculum.
  • Organize and supervise extracurricular drama activities, such as drama clubs and workshops.
  • Maintain and manage drama equipment, costumes, and set materials.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and upcoming events.
  • Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and other school-related activities as required.


  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Theater Arts, Drama Education, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification/license for middle school drama or theater arts.
  • Previous teaching experience in drama or theater, preferably at the middle school level.
  • Strong knowledge of drama techniques, theater history, and production processes.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Passion for drama and a commitment to promoting the arts in education.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience directing school or community theater productions.
  • Knowledge of current educational best practices and teaching methodologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community.
  • Proficiency in using technology to enhance instruction and student engagement.
